Our proposal at In-Fusion Camp:
Our goal, as every year, is for everyone to have an enriching experience during the classes. To this end, we want to propose a central theme to explore in depth and take the time to investigate from various angles throughout the event.
All activities will be translated into English.
Main theme for the 2026 classes:
"Contrast in partner dancing:
the subtlety of dancing from opposites: “softness and firmness”
Dancing softly, in a connection of relaxed tension, implies an ethereal, continuous and seemingly effortless connection between movements, whilst dancing firmly, in a connection of tonic tension, refers to a more decisive and direct connection, necessary for communication in fast rhythms, intense styles, rhythmic games and more.
Throughout the weekend we will cultivate the power of contrast in our bodies, our movement and in our contact; we will learn to alternate between these two qualities of connection.
Mastering both tools allows us to create a fluid and dynamic dance, drawing out variations in musical interpretations that feel like shared, co-created stories.
In Fusion, we tend to seek a ‘softer’ style, so we will prioritise exploring the ‘firm’ connection (tight frame), seeing what doors it can open for us and how to flow between these two types of connection.
Class format:
We are also committed to multi-level training, so that everyone can learn according to their needs, abilities and desires at the time. There will be no beginner level because the vast majority of participants have been dancing for at least a couple of years and many of us come from other partner dances. That is why we propose to differentiate the groups, not so much based on the number of years of dancing, but rather on two axes: first, based on your own recognition of your personal abilities and experience in partner dancing, and second, based on what motivates you to learn and experiment in fusion dancing.
Group 1: You have been dancing for several years but have not taken many Fusion classes, nor have you explored other partner dances in depth. You feel comfortable dancing, but you still find it difficult to communicate or make yourself understood clearly and fluently in some movements or rhythms. You come to class to improve your personal technique as well as your connection and technique in partner dancing, and you want everything to happen at a comfortable pace that suits your level of understanding.
Group 2: You have been dancing Fusion for many years and are at an advanced level in other partner dances. You have many technical resources when dancing because you have accumulated hours of dancing and classes, and you want to communicate more subtly and explore more complex dance dynamics. You come to class looking for new material that will challenge you and make you feel challenged.
Each class will last an hour and a half and will be designed with the aim of finding a balance between technique and connection, as both aspects are necessary to evolve and enjoy our dance.
Each person will decide which group they want to be in, and the teachers will be on hand to guide you if you are unsure.
The teaching method will always incorporate principles and values based on self-responsibility, respect, equality, freedom of choice and listening. In addition, we will encourage you to experiment with different roles in order to integrate diverse perspectives into our bodies.
Remember to bring comfortable clothing and your dance shoes.
Our class programme:
.2 classes focusing on connecting and integrating what has been learned (Thursday afternoon and Sunday morning)
.2 multi-level classes: to unify the group and focus on individual technique and body awareness.
.2 classes at 2 different levels: depending on experience or personal goals.
Please note that throughout the event, the teachers will be available to give private lessons if you want to take advantage of the weekend to learn even more!
